CKYA FOOTBALL PROGRAM PILLARS

Development (Discipline)

- Our entire organization will be focused on development of our kids both as a person and a football player
- We will focus on fundamentals, being a good teammate, listening, taking coaching, as well as blocking, tackling, running, catching
- Maximize reps at practice

Effort (Hard Work)
- Our CKYA Cougars will pride themselves and be known for our level of effort on the football field
- Nothing is given, everything is earned
- Every rep we will play until the whistle blows

Coachable (Character)
- No one is above coaching (even the coaches and the athletic director)
- The kids will be coached in all aspects of football as well as being a good teammate
- Coaches and AD will continuously seek to get better and gain more skills/knowledge to be better coaches and mentors to our kids

Community (Love and Respect for our Team!)
- Our organization is a family.  All families and kids are welcome and we are an organization who will be supported by the Central Kitsap community
- We will be fully integrated with CKSD, from elementary school through high school
- ONE FAMILY ONE PURPOSE


CKYA FOOTBALL COACHING PHILOSOPHY


Character Development
- Develop our youth to learn and understand what it takes to be a good teammate
- Our coaches will not tolerate kids putting down other kids.  Coaches will hold our kids accountable and ensure that the environment for all kids on the football field will be encouraging and something they truly enjoy.
- Push our kids to be engaged, learn new ideas and concepts, and be coachable
- All Coaches will be role models on and off the field
- Need to handle themselves with the utmost professionalism during practice, games and events.
- Develop kids to have positive attitude, resilient attitude.  Next Play Mentality!

Athletic Development
Our highest priority as an organization is development, and as such each practice will be highly valued.  We will maximize the amount of reps for all kids in practice to ensure kids feel valued and engaged.

Organized
- Coaches are organized, Have a Plan!
- Have all the gear required to be successful for that day of practice or the game
- Teaching the kids the nuances of the game. Situational Football, strategy, and more

Safety
- Ensure our players are safe by adhering to safety protocols and promoting injury prevention

Technique
- Fundamentals, fundamentals fundamentals!  This is where our organization can separate ourselves from other clubs
- Teach Blocking, Tackling, Running, Catching, Throwing, etc.
- Coaches need to understand and be trained on these
