Silverdale Youth Baseball 2026 (REC)

Welcome to Silverdale Youth Baseball 2026!

Silverdale Youth Baseball is open to all players ages 4-16 (age on Apr 30 of current year).  There are no boundary restrictions - all are welcome!  Silverdale is affiliated with Cal Ripken League baseball (4-12 yrs) and Babe Ruth League baseball (13-16 yrs). Most practices and games for Cal Ripken league are at Pete Ross Fields, centrally located near the Trails in Silverdale.  We also utilize Central Kitsap School fields as needed for both leagues. Practices & Games are scheduled on weekday evenings starting at 5pm and varying times on Saturdays (Limited Sundays). We are governed by the Central Kitsap Youth Athletics (CKYA) and dedicated to promoting a positive sports learning environment for our community’s youth. Our focus is on the children’s exposure to the basic fundamental skills and strategies of baseball as well as the concepts of teamwork, leadership, sportsmanship, and citizenship. Our primary goal is to provide every child an opportunity to develop and grow both as an athlete and as a person.

Bat & Equipment Guidelines

Silverdale Youth Baseball will accept the standard USA Baseball Bats.  You can find a baseball bat buying guides online at Dick's or Justbats.  No metal cleats can be used.  Team Jersey & Cap will be provided to each player and coach as part of your registration fees.  Player will be responsible for baseball glove, pants, belt, socks (coach will notify team of colors).  Players are also encouraged to bring their own bat, batting helmet & batting gloves.

Considerations for Player Evaluation Day:

  • Player-pitch divisions are subject to Evaluations & Draft. You may not request a specific coach for these divisions. However, you may submit a request to NOT have one specific coach draft your player (one coach only).
  • Wear rubber baseball or turf cleats, athletic clothing, and bring a baseball glove. Bats & Batting Helmets are optional and can be provided
  • No food allowed on turf fields or gym areas water only.
  • No evaluations for T-ball or Coach-pitch levels
  • Age verification (state issued ID, passport, or birth certificate) is required for all players. Verification can be uploaded during player registration online.
  • Siblings will be placed together if they are eligible for same division

Players who do not attend the assigned evaluation time may still participate at another time slot. Players who miss evaluations will be assigned a score for draft purposes.

At the Player Pitch level, only the Head Coach in partnership with Assistant Coaches & Team Parents will be guaranteed to keep their athlete(s) on the same team prior to the draft with no more than 3 (minors), 4 (majors), or 5 (babe ruth) players kept.  Considerations may also be made for Coaches without a defined guardianship relationship to a player or for extenuating circumstances. It is important to note that teams will be ranked by player evaluations that are assigned based on relationship as it relates to draft order.
